The short::seasons project
films are an opportunity for a
Canberran filmmaker to get a bit of cash, use of some equipment and
heaps of support from the short::seasons team to make a film for the
next short::seasons film festival.
Project Funding
To apply for funding, you need to email or
post us your script you'd like to see made into a film along with a
Project
Film Entry Form. The short::seasons team will pick the best idea
from the bunch and help make it happen. One script is selected per
season of the festival (two per year).
The
requirements that must be met are:
· You must live in Canberra or the
Canberra Region
· Your script should be for a
film under 10 minutes in duration
· Your story must be set in
Canberra
· Your story must be set in the
season of the festival it will be made for
· Your script must be producible:
e.g. copyright songs are expensive and herds of elephants are hard to
find, so consider not having things like that in your script.
There are a couple of additional requirements for music videos:
· The music
must be original (no covers)
· The
musician/s must also live in Canberra or the Canberra Region
· A bio of the
musician/s and the song must be submitted
· You must
work out an agreement with the band regarding distribution of any
future revenue (prizes etc) from the music video (short::seasons does
not take any prizes or revenue)
· As
with a script, your treatment must still be producible, including
any postproduction magic: e.g. a music video with 100 seamless
transitions can be made on this budget, but you (and we) need to
consider whether it can be done in the timeframe!
If your script is selected, you will be provided with a budget of $500
cash to go towards making the film. You are also given use
of an edit suite for use on this project. The short::seasons team
will help as much or as little as required.
Submissions are not being taken at present as the festival is in hiatus.
Keep an eye on this site to see when the next round of entries is called.
