Small Things is about youth, friendship and one boy’s fascination with beetles. Primary school can be pretty tough, what with bullies and teachers, but with the support of a friend, Jack can get through anything. This film has a sense of humour about being 10 that only being 10 years older can give you. “At the heart it’s showing that the little guys can win the small victories in life. I think there’s something special about small things in general. It’s not always the big things that are necessarily better, or the loudest people that always have the most important thing to say’ says writer-director Beneta Hadzi-Popovic.
